London:
McLaren is reportedly all set to hike Jenson Button's pay-cheque in a bid to fend off a potential take-over by Ferrari once his contract ends next year.
Currently in a two-year agreement with McLaren, Jenson Button was being eyed by Ferrari so that he could be paired with Fernando Alonso in what would have made a strong team. It is however understood that even Button is considering continuing with his current team for another year.
The 31-year-old Briton has a six-million-pound-a-year contract and the extension is expected to further increase it for the 2009 champion.
