Villarreal beat Valencia in the Castellon derby in the Spanish Primera League at the El Madrigal Stadium.

El Madrigal:

Argentina's Juan Roman Riquelme was the hero on Sunday, as his hat-trick, including two penalties, inspired Villarreal to a highly-satisfying 3-1 win over Valencia in the Castellon derby in the Spanish Primera League at the El Madrigal Stadium. The result ended a nine-game unbeaten streak for the defending Spanish champions and the defeat meant that although Valencia retained third place in the table, they dropped 12 points behind La Liga leaders Barcelona, who beat Racing Santander 3-0 on Saturday. Villarreal remain in seventh place after a highly entertaining derby containing no less than four spot kicks.
