Switzerland, Cyprus switch World Cup match dates

Switzerland and Cyprus have switched the order of their 2014 World Cup qualifying Group E matches.

Switzerland and Cyprus have switched the order of their 2014 World Cup qualifying Group E matches.

The Swiss football association says it accepted a Cypriot request through FIFA to reverse the agreed hosting dates because of difficulties preparing a good playing surface on the Mediterranean island in June.

Cyprus will now host Switzerland on March 23, and Switzerland's home match will be on June 8. Stadium venues have not been decided.

Switzerland leads the six-team group after starting with two victories. Cyprus is among four teams with three points after two matches.
