Brazil's Santos became the second team to reach the second round of Copa Libertadores soccer by beating Gimnasia de La Plata 2-1 on a last-minute winner by Ze Roberto.

Roberto's 90th-minute goal gave Santos a perfect and unassailable 12 points from four matches in Group 8, with two matches left.Defensor Sporting of Uruguay has six points, Gimnasia three, and Deportivo Pasto of Colombia none.

The two top qualifiers advance.Marco Aurelio kicked in Santos' opening goal in the second minute, and Gimnasia didn't equalize until the 87th through Sergio Leal's header before about 28,000 fans in La Plata, 35 miles (55 kilometers) southeast of Buenos Aires.

Five-time Copa Libertadores champion Flamengo was first to the last 16 on Wednesday.

Riquelme scores goal

On loan from Villarreal, Juan Roman Riquelme scored a goal and set up two others as Boca Juniors crushed Toluca 3-0 and replaced the Mexican club atop Group 7.

Jonatan Maidana headed in a 35-meter free kick by Riquelme in the 15th minute to the pleasure of 35,000 fans at Jose Amalfitani Stadium, because Boca's La Bombonera venue was off-limits owing to violence there during a Boca-Guadalajara match in 2005.
