Coimbra, Portugal:

Simao Sabrosa scored in each half ON Wednesday to help Portugal beat Kazakhstan 3-0 in a European Championship qualifier. Cristiano Ronaldo, whose appearance was in doubt after injuring his ankle playing for Manchester United last week, scored his 15th international goal. The Euro 2004 finalist outclassed the 135th-ranked Kazakhstan for its second win in four games. Portugal is equal fourth in Group A with Belgium on seven points. Finland leads with 11. Sabrosa received a pass from Deco before shooting into the top corner in the eighth minute. Ronaldo made it 2-0 in the 30th when he ran at the Kazakh defense and sent a shot that hit the far post and ricocheted into the net. Sabrosa scored his second goal in the 84th when he tapped in the ball from close range. (AP)
