Ronaldinho cast a spell on the football-crazy denizens of Kolkata as his arrival for a two-day visit in Kolkata ushered in an early onset of the Durga Puja festival.

Brazilian football legend Ronaldinho on Sunday arrived in Kolkata on a two-day visit. As he walked out of the terminal, a crowd of enthusiastic fans who had gathered outside the airport greeted him.

Brazilian World Cup winner Ronaldinho has confirmed his visit to the city ahead of the Durga Puja festival.

Retired Brazilian legend Ronaldinho is set to visit Kolkata during the auspicious occasion of Durga Puja next month.

The 40-year-old ex-Barcelona and AC Milan midfielder, who won the Champions League and World Cup in an illustrious career, will remain in isolation in a Belo Horizonte hotel.

Ronaldinho arrived at Rio de Janeiro's international airport from Paraguay's capital Asuncion on Tuesday.

Ronaldinho spent five months in detention in Paraguay over a forged passport scandal.

The judge stressed that he was not issuing a "definitive dismissal" of the case but rather that Ronaldinho was benefitting from a "conditional suspension of the procedure."

Ronaldinho could be released from jail on August 24 after his detention in Paraguay over a forged passport.
