Chelsea are to play in the first football match at New York's new Yankee Stadium when they face French club Paris Saint-Germain there as part of a pre-season tour of the United States.

Paris Saint-Germain on Friday completed the signing of 29-year-old Brazilian centre-back Alex from Chelsea on a two-and-a-half-year contract.

Paris Saint-Germain are expected to announce later Friday that Chelsea defender Alex will become the club's latest signing.

Chelsea says an English Premier League rival has bid for defender Alex, whose transfer request was accepted last month.

Chelsea boss Andre Villas-Boas confirmed on Saturday that the Premier League club have accepted transfer requests from France striker Nicolas Anelka and Brazil defender Alex.
