Mohun Bagan on Friday announced the signing of Kenyan forward Harrison Eric Muranda as the fourth foreigner in the team for I-League 2013-14.
"We have had an extensive meeting with chief coach Karim Bencherifa and the decision was taken after evaluating his past football records of Harrison," Mohun Bagan managing director Anjan Mitra said here today.
"His experience of playing in South East Asia, extensive trails, including assessing him as a player and also as a human being, (bonding with the rest of the Team) from August 22 and comprehensive medical tests (including his health and fitness level), were all taken into consideration," Mitra added.
The appointment came after United SC star forward Ranty Martins, who was speculated to switch to the Green & Maroon brigade, reiterated on Thursday that he would remain with his old club.
Muranda will partner ace Nigerian forward Odafa Okolie and this season's recruit Katsumi Yusa of Japan, while the other foreigner being Nigerian defender Anyichie Echezona.
