South Korea:
The suspense is finally over for South Korea's star footballer Park Ji-Sung.
On Wednesday, the English club Manchester United confirmed that they have signed the South Korean striker and Park immediately departed to the English city for his medical test.
At Seoul's Incheon International Airport, Park Ji-Sung was mobbed his country's media. Park will be the first ever Korean footballer to play for Manchester United, the world's richest football club.
Park played for the Dutch club PSV Eindhoven in the last season.
It is believed that Manchester United bought Park for six million dollars, beating Chelsea who first showed interest in the Korean at the end of the last season.
Park became a hot property in the shopping list of many leading clubs after his spirited performance for PSV in the semi-finals of the Champions League.
Though Park is delighted to join Man U, he may still have to prove himself at the English club to guarantee a start.
Park is expected to sign a four year deal with Man U, with an annual salary of nearly two million pounds. The deal will make the Park not only the first Korean to play in the English Premier League but also the richest Korean footballer.
Park Ji-Sung will join Man U when the English club leaves for their summer tour to Hong Kong, China and Japan in July. (AP)
