Today's results saw both Russia and Croatia win their games in dramatic fashion, leaving it until the last possible moment to snatch wins. Both Spain and Denmark will be absolutely heartbroken in the manner of their defeat, but sometimes football is cruel game.

In the shootout it was the keepers who really shined, as both Subasic and Schmeichel made gargantuan efforts to keep their teams in the tie. At the end of the day however, it was Subasic's team who were able to procure a spot in the next round.
