Islamabad:
A four-member Indian Olympic Association (IOA) delegation headed by its president Suresh Kalmadi arrives here tonight to take part in the Executive Committee meeting of the South Asian Sports Federation (SASF).
The meeting is expected to finalise the arrangements for the SAF Games scheduled to be held here from March 29.
Games officials here said Kalmadi, accompanied by IOA secretary-general Randhir Singh, Vice Presidents B S Ojha and Aslam Khan, will leave tomorrow for Rawalpindi where the SASF meeting is to be held.
The delegation was expected to give a firm indication about India's participation in the Games, which have been postponed twice during the last one year due to Pakistan's internal security situation coupled with Indo-Pak military tensions.
Kalmadi had broken the ice between the two feuding neighbours in the sports arena by attending the SASF meeting last year too and helping in finalising the dates for the SAF Games.
Kalmadi also met Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Lt. Gen. Tauqir Zia and other officials and discussed resumption of cricketing ties. (PTI)
