AC Milan rallied from a two-goal deficit to beat second-division Brescia 4-2 and Sampdoria defeated Serie A co-leader Palermo 1-0 in the first leg of the Italian Cup's fourth round. After Matteo Serafini and Luis Alfageme yesterday gave Brescia a 2-0 lead at half-time, Milan recovered with two goals by Marco Borriello and one each by Cristian Brocchi and Filippo Inzaghi. Emiliano Bonazzoli scored the winner in the 78th minute for Sampdoria against a Palermo side missing most of its regulars. Vincenzo Montella scored two first-half goals for AS Roma in a 2-1 win at second-division Triestina. Empoli beat Serie B leader Genoa 1-0 on a goal by defender Simone Iacopini, who normally plays for Empoli's youth squad. Daniele Martinetti scored twice in Arezzo's 2-1 win over Livorno, the only game in which a second-division club beat a team from Serie A. Also, Chievo Verona overcame a two-goal deficit to draw 2-2 with Reggina. Serie A co-leader Inter Milan is at Messina and Napoli hosts Parma on Thursday to complete the first leg of the fourth round.
