Madrid:
David Beckham said he played in Real Madrid's Champions League match against Arsenal with a right thigh strain he got before kick off.
"I began to feel bad in the warm-up and did my best to put up with it," Beckham was quoted as saying by Madrid's Web site.
Beckham said he felt more pain during the second half of Wednesday's second-round second leg match at Highbury.
Madrid drew 0-0 and was eliminated from the competition 1-0 on aggregate. The game was Beckham's first in England in nearly three years with Madrid.
Beckham, who was unable to train Thursday and will be sidelined for five or six days, will miss Madrid's Spanish league game against Valencia on Saturday.
Madrid is in second place in the league, level on points with third-place Valencia. FC Barcelona leads the league by 10 points. (AP)
