Guadalajara advanced to the Copa Sudamericana quarterfinals with a 1-0 home victory over DC United on Tuesday.

The result saw the Mexican club advance under the away goals rule, having lost 2-1 in the first leg in Washington.

Ramon Morales scored the winner in the 64th minute with a powerful shot past goalkeeper Troy Perkins.

Guadalajara will meet Argentina's Arsenal in the quarterfinals.

Guadalajara fired its coach Jose Manuel de la Torre two days after the first-leg loss against DC United.
