Real Madrid striker Cristiano Ronaldo has been ruled out of action for up to three weeks by his club after suffering a recurrence of a left thigh injury.
Ronaldo initially suffered a minor tear in his left thigh muscle during the 7-0 thrashing of Malaga on March 3.
He played for the Spanish giants during their 3-0 Champions League win over Lyon in midweek and lined up for Real in their Spanish league defeat of city rivals Atletico on Saturday before leaving the pitch in the 72nd minute.
Ronaldo could now be out for up to three weeks, the club said, meaning he will likely miss Liga action on the weekend of April 2/3 and will be uncertain for Real's hosting of Tottenham in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final on April 5.
Real coach Jose Mourinho had said after the defeat of Lyon that he would not take any risks by playing Ronaldo on Saturday.
After 29 matches Real are still five points behind league leaders Barcelona.
