Franfurt:

Striker Ioannis Amanatidis scored the only goal of the game as Eintracht Frankfurt beat Arminia Bielefeld 1-0 on Tuesday. With this win, Eintracht has entered the final of the German Cup for the first time since 1988. In the finals, it will play either Bayern Munich or third division St Pauli. Bielefeld went into the game with a slight advantage, having beaten their opponents 1-0 in a league game on Saturday. The visitors were also sitting three places above Frankfurt in 10th place in the league. That counted for nothing, though, when the home side took the lead in the 16th minute. Bielefeld's Heiko Westermann gave the ball away in midfield, allowing Frankfurt's Benjamin Huggel to find Stefan Lexa with a quick pass. Lexa played in Amanatidis and the striker made no mistake, timing his run and rounding Bielefeld goalkeeper Mathias Hain, before finding the back of the net. So close yet so far Almost immediately, Bielefeld went close to levelling the scores. Fatmir Vata latched onto a loose ball and ran unchallenged, before unleashing along-range shot that clipped Oka Nikolov's crossbar. The score remained 1-0 in favour of Frankfurt at halftime. The visitors rarely threatened the Frankfurt goal and instead it was the home side who went closest to scoring the game's second goal. A fine run down the right flank by Du-Ri Cha ended with a delightful cross into the Bielefeld penalty area, where Benjamin Kohler's header thundered into the post. Frankfurt remained in control for the remainder of the game, before celebrating a well-deserved 1-0 victory. Bayern face a test of nerve more than skill when they travel to face the third d ivision side in the second semi-final on Wednesday. The final is scheduled at the Olympic Stadium in Berlin on April 29. (AP)
