Chelsea signed Mexico Under-20 midfielder Ulises Davila from Chivas Guadalajara on Saturday.
Davila is the Blues' fifth signing since the end of last season following the captures of Juan Mata, Oriol Romeu, Romelu Lukaku and Thibaut Courtois.
The 20-year-old agreed a five-year contract with the Premier League club and Chelsea's technical director Michael Emenalo will hope he can follow in the footsteps of Javier Hernandez, who has been a big hit at Manchester United since moving to Old Trafford from Chivas.
"Ulises has been a highly-scouted player by a lot of clubs and has made great progress in the last couple of tournaments we have seen him play in," Emenalo told the club's website.
"We are delighted to have been able to get this deal done. Chivas is a superb club with a strong reputation in player development and world football.
"We are confident Ulises will be able to continue his fast development to become an important Chelsea first-team player."
