Brazil hammered Uruguay 6-0 on Saturday in the closing match of the South American qualifier for the Under-20 World Cup.
Three goals from Lucas, two from Neymar and another from Danilo completed the rout.
The victory earned Brazil a berth at the 2012 London Olympics. Uruguay had already earned the second spot from regional qualifying. In addition, Brazil Uruguay, Argentina and Ecuador earned places in the Under-20 World Cup which will be played later this year in Colombia.
In Saturday's two other matches to wrap up the four-week long tournament, Argentina defeated Colombia 2-0 with goals from Facundo Ferreyra and Bruno Zucilini. Ecuador defeated Chile 1-0 with a goal by Dixon Arroyo.
Brazil finished with 12 points from five matches in the second-round phase of the tournament. Uruguay ended with 10 points followed by Argentina with nine, Ecuador with eight, Chile with three and Colombia with one.
Neymar, the 19-year-old star at Brazilian club Santos, led the tournament with nine goals and will be under increasing pressure to make a rich transfer to a high-profile European club.
Argentina won gold in the last two Olympics Games in Athens and Beijing, but will miss out this time. Argentine coach Walter Perazzo tried to put a brave face on being excluded from London.
"We achieved the main goal, which was the (U20) World Cup," he said.
