Berlin:
Michael Ballack denied claims that signing with Chelsea was a mistake and his new teammates are unhappy with him. "I am fully accepted and I get along well with my teammates that is what counts," Ballack said Sunday on German radio station ARD. Didier Drogba and Claude Makelele had reportedly criticized Ballack, who earns a weekly salary estimated at 130,000 pounds (US$250,000; euro190,000), to Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho. Makelele has denied the reports and Ballack blames the speculation on the English media. "There is something going on every day at Chelsea," he said. Last week, Franz Beckenbauer said Ballack made a mistake in leaving Bayern Munich at the end of last season because Frank Lampard fills his central role at the Blues. "I can only speak for myself I wanted the challenge and I found it here," Ballack said. "For me, it was absolutely the right decision. I have big goals. I didn't want to sign a six-year contract with Bayern Munich anymore." The 30-year-old Germany captain arrived at Chelsea with a reputation as a high scoring, attacking midfielder but he has collected just three goals in 17 matches.Topics mentioned in this article
