Accra, Ghana:

Al-Ain striker Asamoah Gyan will return to the Ghana side for a friendly against China on Wednesday in Xi'an.

Gyan has been included in coach Kwesi Appiah's 18-man squad despite calling an immediate halt to his international career last February after suffering criticism for missing a penalty in his country's Africa Cup of Nations semi-final exit.

Gyan had been the target of harsh criticism but appears to have put that behind him after completing a permanent move to the United Arab Emirates in July.
