The Copa del Rey or the Spanish Cup has become the deathbed of several first division clubs -- Alaves and Celta de Vigo were the latest casualties. The next round of 16 could have just 8 first division teams, but one top team that is not having much trouble is Real Madrid. Spanish champions Real Madrid travelled to the Canary Islands on Wednesday to face Lanzarote, who play in the Spanish second Division B. Raul Bravo created the first good chance for the visitors but Pedro Mutinis' header hit the post instead. The 25th minute and Real found the post once again, but Celades made it count this time, finding the back of the net off the rebound. Lanzarote, boosted by local support, found the equaliser in the 41st minute. Vladimir converting from close range. Figo, with a bandage around his head, tried one of his trademark freekicks but failed to find the target. Real Madrid re-established their superiority in the 59th minute with Solari passing the ball to captain 'Guti' who beat the advancing keeper to make it 2-1. The final goal came 17 minutes from time, Fransisco Pavon heading the ball home and sealing a 3-1 victory for the La Liga champions.
