Al Ittihad beat Foolad

Syria's Al Ittihad registered a 2-1 victory over Foolad of Iran in an Asian Champions League match on Wednesday.

Syria's Al Ittihad registered a 2-1 victory over Foolad of Iran in an Asian Champions League match on Wednesday. Goals by forward Mohamed Al Damen and defender Mohamed Boudka helped score the win. Al Damen gave Al Ittihad the lead in the 22nd minute and Mohamed Boudka doubled it in the 73rd. Midfielder Adel Kolahkaj scored in the 77th minute for Foolad, which was without six regulars who had been called up to Iran's national team for the World Cup training. The results finished Al Ittihad in third place in Group A with eight points, three behind Al Qadisiya and two back of Pakhtakor. Foolad finished last in the group with four points. (AP)
