Luka Modric Trains Ahead Of First WC Game Against England

Croatia trained on Tuesday ahead of the side's opening FIFA World Cup group stage match against England in Dallas, Texas, USA on Wednesday. The game will bring back memories of Croatia's 2-1 victory in the semi-finals of the 2018 World Cup in Russia that sent the country to its first-ever World Cup final. Six players in the current Croatia squad were there that year: Andrej Kramarić, Dominik Livaković, Duje Ćaleta-Car, Ivan Perišić, Luka Modrić and Mateo Kovačić. Five players from the current England squad were also present in Moscow in 2018 including star-striker Harry Kane. This will be their 12th meeting since Croatia became an independent nation with England winning six times and Croatia three, but crucially one of them being their only previous World Cup meeting.
