Really impressed with the grand way of ISL kickoff here on October 12, Laxman said: "I watched the inauguration on TV. It was fantastic. I would love to watch the match especially when I'm in Kolkata."

Sunday's match is billed as a battle between two former Indian teammates and opening partners Sachin Tendulkar (Kerala) versus Sourav Ganguly (Kolkata), who are co-owners of their respective franchise.
Laxman did not say whom he would support on Sunday but the Hyderabadi added:"I hope it goes down the wire and I would like to soak in the excitement."
He further said many sports in India were getting an uplift thanks to the latest trend of franchise football.
"I'm really glad that the other sports are also encouraged. The kabaddi league (Pro Kabaddi) was a huge hit, and now football."
