42.2 OUT! CAUGHT! The dropped catch of Fernando does not cost a lot and Paul will be a relieved man. However, Fernando has played a fantastic knock here and is going off the pitch with his head and bat held high. Fernando looks to make room and go over the off side but Joseph follows him with a short ball. Fernando looks to pull but mistimes it. The ball goes high towards the man at mid-wicket where Keemo Paul takes an easy catch. West Indies looking to peg Sri Lanka back at the death. 271/4

| Dimuth Karunaratne C | 1 | 8 | 0 | 0 | 12.50 |
2.2 OUT! Soft, soft dismissal for the Lankan skipper. Cottrell delivers it short and wide outside off, there to be hit, Karunaratne reaches out with his attempted square cut but fails to keep it down. It goes straight to Fabian Allen at point who accepts the dolly. Karunaratne gets a military send-off from Sheldon. Early success for West Indies! 9/1

| Kusal Perera Wk | 1 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
2.3 OUT! Edged and gone! A golden duck for Kusal Perera in his 100th ODI! Sri Lanka in some early trouble. Yet again there is nothing extraordinary with the delivery. It's on a length and wide outside off, Perera spots the chance to blast it through covers but the ball nips away a shade to kiss the outside edge. Shai Hope makes no mistake and here comes another salute from Sheldon Cottrell. He is on a hat-trick! 9/2
| Kusal Mendis | 119 | 119 | 12 | 0 | 100 |
40.2 OUT! CAUGHT! Finally a breakthrough for West Indies and Kusal Mendis departs after a fantastic knock. He soaks in the applause from the crowd as he lifts his bat. Length delivery on middle and off, Mendis looks to heave this one towards the mid-wicket region. It is an off cutter by Joseph. The ball takes the top edge and goes high in the air. Shai Hope calls for it, settles under it just where the short leg fielder would have been positioned and takes the catch. The 239-run stand is broken and Mendis has made the full use of the life he got. 248/3

| Thisara Perera | 36 | 25 | 4 | 0 | 144 |
47.3 OUT! TIMBER! You miss, I hit and Cottrell again brings out the salute although it is a tired one. He along with Joseph have been good for the West Indies here. A slower ball just around off, coming into Perera. Thisara looks to go for a wild heave towards mid-wicket but misses and the stumps are disturbed. West Indies trying to finish the innings with a flurry of wickets. 316/7
| Angelo Mathews | 1 | 2 | 0 | 0 | 50 |
43 OUT! TIMBER! The middle stump has come off the ground and Mathews departs for just one run. A full ball on middle and off, nipping in. Mathews looks to flick but the ball goes off the inside edge onto the stumps and the middle pole is off its groove. Mathews walks back without doing anything substantial in his 100th ODI at home! Outstanding over by Alzarri, 5 runs and a couple of wickets in it! 274/5
| Dhananjaya de Silva | 12 | 5 | 2 | 0 | 240 |
45.4 OUT! BOWLED! Again the salute comes out and this time de Silva walks back. Length ball around the leg pole line, it is a leg cutter. De Silva looks to hit this one over the off side but misses. Cottrell though hits and the middle and leg poles are disturbed. The Lankan charge is being halted a bit at the death by the Windies. 303/6
| Wanindu Hasaranga | 17 | 10 | 3 | 0 | 170 |
50 OUT! Hasaranga is run out! Cottrell serves a slower length ball outside off, angling away, Wanindu shuffles across the stumps and tries to play the paddle shot. Fails to connect and they attempt to steal a bye. The keeper misses his shy at the striker's end and the ball rolls to the bowler. Cottrell picks it up and back flicks it onto the stumps as Wanindu dives in. It's referred upstairs and a few frames were enough to find Hasaranga short. SRI LANKA FINISH ON 345/8! 345/8

17.1 OUT! CAUGHT! Mathews has hunted down the dangerous Hope in his 100th ODI at home and he is delighted. Full ball wide outside off, Hope looks to drag it towards mid-wicket but is undone by the lack of pace on the ball. The man at short mid-wicket, Dimuth Karunaratne, catches the ball over his head and it's a massive breakthrough for Sri Lanka. 263 needed off 197 balls. 83/2
| Sunil Ambris | 17 | 24 | 1 | 0 | 70.83 |
12.2 OUT! RUN OUT! Disaster strikes and Shai Hope has sold Sunil Ambris down the river! It was becoming very difficult for the Sri Lankan bowlers to break this stand but West Indies have shot themselves in the foot here. Full ball on the pads, Hope flicks this one towards Mathews at mid-wicket. Hope sets off for a run and comes almost halfway down the pitch. His partner, Sunil Ambris, obliges but Hope then turns back. Ambris too has to turn back and tries to reach his crease at the non-striker's end. Mathews throws the ball to Udana at the non-striker's end who dislodges the bails and Ambris is well short. No need of a referral here and Ambris has to walk back. Is this the opening that the Lankans wanted? 64/1

| Darren Bravo | 16 | 23 | 1 | 0 | 69.56 |
20.1 OUT! Bravo is foxed by a googly! Hasaranga slows it up in the air and lands it full around middle. It lands and grips before spinning away from the left-hander as Bravo tries to flick it against the spin. The ball probably takes the back of his bat and Dhananjaya de Silva reacts well to his right at first slip to grab the catch. Wanindu is ecstatic and a disappointed Darren is on his bike. 253 needed more by West Indies off 179 balls to level the series! 93/3
| Roston Chase | 20 | 30 | 1 | 0 | 66.66 |
28 OUT! BOWLED! Sandakan gets the breakthrough and Chase's dogged innings comes to an end. A floated delivery on the off pole line, Chase prods forward to flick it across the line but it turns past the inside edge of his bat. The ball shatters into the stumps behind and a wicket for Sandakan after 184 deliveries in ODIs. This will do his confidence a world of good and Sri Lanka continue to be on top here! 130/4
| Nicholas Pooran | 31 | 41 | 3 | 0 | 75.60 |
35.1 OUT! Mathews takes a blinder! He rolls back the years and shows that the fire is still burning. Big smile on the face of the veteran. Sandakan serves a flighted full ball outside off, spinning away after landing, Pooran kneels down for the slog sweep but fails to middle his shot. It finds the top edge and balloons in the air towards mid-wicket. Mathews in the vicinity quickly moves across to his right and completes the catch with a full length dive. Final nail in the West Indian coffin, only formalities left in this run chase now. 158/7
| Kieron Pollard C | 1 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
28.2 OUT! Golden duck for Kieron Pollard! Body blow to West Indies and their glimmer of hope. Great delivery by Hasaranga. Once again he has deceived the batsman with a well-disguised wrong 'un. He dishes it out on a fuller length outside off, Pollard tries to drive it through the line but it spins back in to beat his bat and destroys the stumps behind. West Indies are now reduced to half! 131/5
| Jason Holder | 3 | 8 | 0 | 0 | 37.50 |
30.5 OUT! Wrong 'un accompanied by the lack of bounce is a recipe for disaster and disaster it is for Jason Holder. Third wicket for Hasaranga and he is over the moon. Hurls across a flighted delivery outside off, Holder stays back and looks to defend but it stays low and turns back in to beat his bat. The stumps once again get disturbed and West Indies are staring down the barrel. 137/6
| Keemo Paul | 21 | 27 | 3 | 0 | 77.77 |
38.3 OUT! Pradeep destroys the stumps with his back of the hand variation. He lands it on a length around off, Paul is way too early into his shot and as a result, he fails to make any connection. Wicket number 8 goes down and the end is nigh for West Indies. 184/8
| Fabian Allen | 17 | 14 | 2 | 1 | 121.42 |
39.1 OUT! End of the story! Sandakan serves a flighted full ball around leg, Allen aims to go downtown and clear long on but fails to get enough distance behind his shot. Thisara Perera takes a simple catch and SRI LANKA WIN BY 161 RUNS! 184/10
| Alzarri Joseph | 3 | 0 | 0 | 0 | |
39 OUT! Pradeep strikes with a corker of a yorker. Nails it at the base of off stump, little bit of tail in the air and Joseph is late in bringing his bat down. The off stump goes for a walk and Sri Lanka are just one wicket away from taking an unassailable lead in the series. 184/9
