William O'Rourke uses his height to good effect as he steams in from over the wicket and hits the deck hard, angling across, in the channel on off, Travis Head gets on his toes nicely but pokes at the away going delivery away from his body. Henry hits the deck hard, on off and middle, Mitchell Marsh misreads the length and gets into the position to pull it hard on the leg side. The ball is not that short to pull and Marsh gets a top edge that goes only as far as the slip cordon. The keeper, Tom Blundell calls for it and moves to his right to take the catch. Will Young is gutted and New Zealand have now lost half their side with not even 30 runs on the board. Not the best of deliveries from Marsh as this is on the pads, on a length, Will Young's eyes light up as he looks to cash in on a poor delivery. He tries to tickle it fine on the leg side but only manages to get a feather on it. The keeper, Alex Carey dives quickly to his left and sends Young packing.  29/5

5 OUT! RUN OUT! Oh dear, that's a terrible mixup and Kane Williamson has to walk back without troubling the scorers. Mitchell Starc gets this nice and full, around off, Kane Williamson covers the line, taps it in front of mid off and sets off for the run. Will Young is caught ball-watching and then turns back to run but crashes right into Kane Williamson as Starc holds his ground in the middle of the two batters. Marnus Labuschagne at mid off collects the ball and hits the stumps at the bowler's end to catch Williamson well short of his crease.  12/2

Josh Hazlewood comes from over the wicket and pushes this one a little wider on off on a fuller length, inviting the drive, Rachin Ravindra stays in the crease and frees his arms to drive it through covers but slices to the left of Nathan Lyon at point who moves across a bit too much to his right and gets himself into a tangle. He recovers well though to complete the catch as the ball sticks in his left hand near his armpit.  12/3

17 OUT! EDGED AND GONE! Pat Cummins gets into the act now! Daryl Mitchell falls for the trap and New Zealand are in more trouble. Cummins puts a man in the deep on the leg side and Mitchell is lured into thinking that a short ball is coming at him. This is on a back of a length from Cummins, around off, Daryl Mitchell has a fiddle at the delivery away from the body. Gets an outside edge that goes through to the keeper, Alex Carey who dives to his right to snaffle it.  29/4

Lyon cleverly floats it up, full and on middle, Tom Blundell uses his feet and looks to work it across the line. He fails to get to the pitch of the ball and gets an inside edge onto the pads. Lyon offers flight and entices Kuggeleijn into the big shot, full and on off, Scott Kuggeleijn falls for the trap as he shimmies down the track and goes for a heave across the line. He makes the connection but it goes only as far as Cameron Green at deep square leg where he takes it near his knees.  113/7

Lyon sees the batter move away and follows him with a fuller delivery, Matt Henry goes for a big hoick but gets it off the inner half of the bat towards deep mid-wicket. The introduction of spin has worked for the Kiwis as Glenn Phillips gets his first Test wicket against Australia. Phillips Tosses this one up just outside off and gets the ball to turn away a mile, Usman Khawaja shimmies down the track and looks for the big hoick against the spin but is undone. The ball gets past his outside edge and Tom Blundell collects the ball well to his left and dislodges the bails in a flash. Usman Khawaja is caught inches short of the ground as he pulls his bat back looking to get back in but does not get his bat inside the crease in the nick of time.  81/4

Young could have left it if he would have wanted to but he decides to play at it. Gets an outside edge that goes quickly to the left of first slip. Steven Smith stays low and his sharp reflexes comes to his rescue as he pulls off a low one-handed stunner near his ankle.  59/3

Pushes it through, short and on middle and leg, Kane Williamson uses the depth of his crease to keep it out on the on side. Williamson gets rushed in trying to defend and the ball turns in enough to catch the inside edge. It travels quickly and low towards leg slip where Steven Smith reacts fast and takes it near his shoelaces.  35/2

Hazlewood bangs it just short of a length over off, at 135.9 kph, Daryl Mitchell goes for the big pull but is a bit too late on it.
