Big Bash League: Former South Africa international Johan Botha will come out of retirement from T20 cricket to play for Hobart Hurricanes in BBL 10.
West Indian Narine was reported for a suspect bowling action during an Indian Premier League match (IPL) and has been banned by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) from bowling his "off-spinners" in the ongoing tournament.
Johan Botha has previously played in the IPL for Delhi Daredevils and Rajasthan Royals. He was brought by the Kolkata Knight Riders to replace injured Australian batsman Chris Lynn.
Botha was cited by umpires Simon Fry, Michael Graeme-Smith and Geoff Joshua in the RYOBI CUP match between South Australia and Victoria at Bankstown Oval on October 4.
Botha, who is captain of the West End Redbacks, will undergo biomechanical analysis after being cited for a doubtful bowling action.
The Delhi franchise suffered their seventh loss in eight games Tuesday after they were beaten by five wickets by Kings XI Punjab. They are wallowing at the bottom of the points table at present.
The South African said his team mates can look back and take some inspiration from last year's performance when Morne Morkel and Kevin Pietersen came up with good performances.
The third marquee player South African all-rounder Johan Botha, who went to Rajasthan last year for $950,000, was bought by Delhi Daredevils for $450,000 after an aggressive bidding-match with Pune. Botha had a base price of $300,000.
