c Mohammad Hafeez b Rumman Raees
41.2 OUT! Guptill holes out! He perishes just after reaching his 100 in the pursuit of quick runs. Raees bowls a full ball on middle, Guptill clears his front leg and tries to go big. He does not time it and it goes straight towards long on where Hafeez takes a couple of steps ahead and catches it. Pakistan will be happy to see the back of the right-hander as he could be very dangerous towards the end. However, an excellent innings by Guptill comes to an end and he has set a perfect platform for the batsmen to follow. What's more, the 112-run stand has been broken. 213/3

Colin Munro | 34 | 24 | 7 | 0 | 141.66 |
c Mohammad Nawaz b Rumman Raees
5.5 OUT! A wicket against the run of play here. Raees bowls a length ball just outside off, Munro plays one shot too many. Looks to go downtown with a big hit. Ends up mistiming it and the ball goes high in the air. Mid off and mid on both backtrack and it seems there might be some confusion regarding the calling. But Nawaz calls it well and takes it after getting there from the former position. On another look, it seemed that the ball bounced a touch more from that length and that proved to be the southpaw's undoing. Pakistan would be relieved with this breakthrough and would now look to bring things under control. 52/1

Kane Williamson C | 22 | 36 | 0 | 0 | 61.11 |
c Umar Amin b Aamer Yamin
17.2 OUT! Catches don't come simpler than these! What was Williamson thinking here? This is so unlike him. Yamin slants it in on a length. Williamson looks to go to the on side and chooses the aerial route for the same. That's the mistake that he has done as he has picked out Umar Amin in the deep to perfection with the front foot pull-cum-heave. Kane knew it straightaway and put his head down in disgust. The flourishing 49-run stand is now cut off. Good time to strike for the visitors. 101/2

Ross Taylor | 59 | 73 | 3 | 0 | 80.82 |
b Faheem Ashraf
44.2 OUT! Knocks him over! Brilliant bowling! Another very full ball on off, Taylor tries to be cheeky, as he tries to play the paddle by moving across. The ball is too full to play that and he hence hits it onto the stumps. He departs after playing a supporting knock where he played second fiddle to Guptill. Another timely wicket for Pakistan and they are now trying to fight their way back into the game. 232/4

Henry Nicholls | 1 | 3 | 0 | 0 | 33.33 |
c Fakhar Zaman b Rumman Raees
45.2 OUT! Another one bites the dust! New Zealand are losing their way here! Nicholls can't make an impact this time as he falls to a very good catch by Zaman. Raees bowls it full on middle, Nicholls tries to thwack it but it goes off the inner half and uppishly towards mid-wicket. Zaman there runs to his right and takes a good catch. Rumman gets his third. Can they now keep New Zealand under 300? 239/5
|
|||||
Tom Latham Wk | 2 | 5 | 0 | 0 | 40 |
c Sarfraz Ahmed b Faheem Ashraf
46.4 OUT! There is a mark on Hot Spot! Latham is the man walking back now. This is excellent bowling by Pakistan Faheem gets his second. He bowls a full ball outside off, Latham first tries to paddle it but seeing the line he tries to guide it down to third man. The ball seems to have taken the edge as the keeper catches it and appeals. The umpire shakes his head though. Sarfraz is pretty sure about it as he reviews it straightaway. Replays roll in and they show there is a mark on Hot Spot. The on-field call has to be overturned. 243/6
|
|||||
Mitchell Santner | 1 | 1 | 0 | 0 | 100 |
run out (Mohammad Nawaz)
46.5 OUT! They are falling like a pack of cards here! Santner has been run out! Needless running. Santner pulls this short ball down towards wide long on. He completes one. Colin calls him for the second, Santner hesitates a bit but then continues running as his partner is going for it. He also runs wide and hence makes it more difficult for himself as he has to cover more area. The fielder, Nawaz, fires a throw to the keeper who whips the bails off and appeals. They go upstairs to check and replays show Santner is short. Two wickets in two balls for Pakistan and New Zealand are seven down now. 244/7

c Kane Williamson b Matt Henry
5.1 OUT! SOFT DISMISSAL! The catch has been taken this time. Henry lands it on a length around off. Zaman moves his front leg out of the way and tries to hit it on the up over mid off. He does not time it and it lobs to Kane Williamson who takes an easy catch. Henry gets his second and he is breathing fire. Zaman could not make a lot of the reprieve he got. Replays show that, the way Zaman was positioning himself, he looked like he was expecting a shorter one and hence could not adjust to the fuller ball. Maybe the blow on his head was playing on his mind. Now Pakistan are in big trouble. They need another 253 in 269. 19/2

|||||
Umar Amin | 2 | 4 | 0 | 0 | 50 |
c Ross Taylor b Matt Henry
3.2 OUT! EDGED AND TAKEN! Henry draws first blood! He had Zaman dropped in his first over but this time he gets his partner. He bowls a full ball outside off, inviting the batsman to drive. Amin does so, he goes after it with his feet rooted in the crease. It takes the edge and goes low to Taylor who seems to have taken it. The umpire goes upstairs to check whether it has carried and replays show it clearly has. Amin has been given his marching orders. Pakistan have lost one early, not the start they would have wanted. 14/1
|
|||||
Babar Azam | 10 | 21 | 2 | 0 | 47.61 |
c Martin Guptill b Matt Henry
7.4 OUT! Henry gets his third and Azam is walking back. Does that now end the hopes of Pakistan chasing this total? Henry bowls it on a length around off, it shapes away a touch. Azam presses forward to defend but the ball takes the outside edge and goes into the hands of Guptill at second slip who takes it. The line was such that he HAD TO play at it. Excellent bowling by the pacer. The Kiwis are ecstatic and Azam's poor form continues. Pakistan are three down now and they are staring down the barrel. 31/3
|
|||||
Haris Sohail | 63 | 87 | 5 | 0 | 72.41 |
c Matt Henry b Mitchell Santner
37.2 OUT! Is this the striking blow served on Pakistan? Is this the scalp that helps New Zealand shut the game off? Santner, with his guile, ekes out a big scalp. He tosses it up brilliantly and asks Sohail to go big down the ground. The batter is so well set, that he thinks he can easily clear long on and get a maximum. Fails to counter for the lack of pace on this one and doesn't get to the pitch of the ball even after dancing down the track. Gets more height than distance and the ball travels straight to Henry stationed at long on. A very good innings from the southpaw comes to an end, the Kiwis are just 4 wickets away from a win here. The men in green require 110 more in 76 balls. 162/6
|
|||||
Mohammad Hafeez | 6 | 20 | 1 | 0 | 30 |
c Colin Munro b Lockie Ferguson
14 OUT! Munro takes it this time and he is delighted, pleased to hang on to one! Ferguson bangs it short outside off, Hafeez, who was happy to block most of the balls he faced, tries to slap this one over covers. He does not get the desired elevation and Munro there leaps and takes it by stretching both his hands and throws it up in joy. Just as a partnership was starting to build New Zealand strike. The Kiwis are six wickets away now from inflicting a whitewash. 52/4
|
|||||
Sarfaraz Ahmed C Wk | 3 | 8 | 0 | 0 | 37.5 |
c Ross Taylor b Colin de Grandhomme
17 OUT! Oh, oh, oh! What a catch, Ross! New Zealand can do nothing wrong here. Colin de Grandhomme gets his first. He lands it on a length around middle, Sarfraz Ahmed comes down the track and tries to go over mid-wicket. It goes off the inner half towards Taylor there, who times his jump to perfection, sticks his right hand out and takes an excellent catch. Half the side is back in the hut for Pakistan. They need another 215 more and a miracle from here if they are to win. 57/5
|
|||||
Shadab Khan | 54 | 77 | 5 | 0 | 70.12 |
c Henry Nicholls b Mitchell Santner
39.3 OUT! Mitchell Santner is making the right noises in this spell. He has picked up two wickets in two overs. What's more, he has got both the set batters out of here. Tosses it up well outside off, Shadab now cannot resist the temptation of coming down the track. Does so and looks to go inside out. Ends up getting a thick outside edge straight to short third man where Nicholls accepts a dolly. Another set batsman departs and now the end is nigh for Pakistan. 171/7
|
|||||
Faheem Ashraf | 23 | 15 | 1 | 2 | 153.33 |
c Tim Southee b Mitchell Santner
43.1 OUT! The batsman who have got their eyes in are intent on gifting away their wickets to Santner. After Sohail and Shadab, add Ashraf to the list. Sees this ball flighted, he gets down to slog sweep it over mid-wicket. Ends up skying it high. Southee gets to his right from mid-wicket and runs backwards towards mid on and takes it nicely. These are not easy catches, mind you, but Tim has done really well. Pakistan slip further, they require 70 more off 41 balls, while the hosts just 2 wickets away. 202/8

Mohammad Nawaz | 23 | 12 | 3 | 1 | 191.66 |
b Lockie Ferguson
46.2 OUT! Knocked him over! Length ball in line of the stumps at 148.9 kph, Nawaz sees the length and looks to play the big shot. He's caught off guard with the pace on that and ends up getting his stumps shattered. Perhaps, Ferguson vented his frustration at being wided on the previous ball with this high-paced stuff. The hosts are just one wicket away from 5-0 win now. 235/9
|
|||||
Rumman Raees | 5 | 6 | 1 | 0 | 83.33 |
c Lockie Ferguson b Matt Henry
49 OUT! That's all! Raees gets a short ball in the line of the stumps, he looks to pull it away over deep mid-wicket. Ends up mistiming it and hitting it in the air. Ferguson runs to his right from long on and takes that one with ease. Never took his eyes off that. NEW ZEALAND WIN BY 15 RUNS AND TAKE THE SERIES 5-0! 256/10
