Right then, that is all from this one-sided affair as Rajasthan pick up a crucial win away from home. Kolkata were really disappointing in this game in all aspects of the game and will want to show their best form in the remaining two games. The action in the 16th edition of the Indian T20 League continues on Friday, 12th of May, as five-time champions Mumbai host the reigning champions Gujarat at the Wankhede Stadium. Yashasvi Jaiswal is the Player of the Match for scoring a match-winning knock of 98 in 47 balls with 12 fours and 5 sixes. He says that it is always the plan in his head to go out there and play well so he is more happy with the win. Explains that he only thinks about the process and he trusts himself to do the job. Adds that he wants to go out there and express himself. When asked about his favorite shot in this inning, he says that it was the shot that he played to win the game because it is his dream to finish games for his side. About Jos Buttler's run out, he says that such things happen in cricket and no one does it purposely. Reckons that it made him more responsible to play his inning well. Ends by saying that the Indian T20 League is a great platform where young players get exposure by playing with some great players.

Sanju Samson, the skipper of Rajasthan says that he did not have to do anything today and just put bat to ball. On Yashasvi Jaiswal's innings, he says that they are used to it now and he enjoys batting in the Powerplay. On Yuzvendra Chahal, he says that it is time to give him the tag of legend. Mentions that he doesn't have to speak to him and he knows what to do. Adds that he bowls at the death as well and says that they are very lucky to have him in the franchise. States that they have two more quarter-finals to play and the pressure is never off in the Indian T20 League. Reckons that each game and each over is important here. Also says that you can understand how good the environment is when Jos Buttler throws his wicket away for a youngster like Yashasvi Jaiswal. Ends by saying that he is very happy with this win but they have a few more matches to go.

Nitish Rana, the skipper of Kolkata starts by applauding Yashasvi Jaiswal for his knock and mentions that there are days in every player's career when everything goes in his favor. Reckons that on this wicket 180 was a par score. Feels that there were mistakes in the batting effort which was the reason for them losing out on two points. On his plan to bowl the first over, he says that Yashasvi Jaiswal has been batting well this season and the plan was to bowl a part-timer against him but it did not pay off and such things can happen in the game.

Trent Boult did early damage after his captain won the toss taking two wickets but the star of Rajasthan's bowling effort was Yuzvendra Chahal who took four wickets for 25 runs in his four overs. KM Asif and Sandeep Sharma took one wicket each and for Kolkata, it was Venkatesh Iyer who helped them get close to the 150-run mark with a half-century. The total was never going to be enough for the hosts and needed to start well with the ball but the onslaught against Nitish Rana proved to be too brutal for them to overcome.

Yashasvi Jaiswal would have been smacking his lips when he saw Nitish Rana grab the ball to begin proceedings and for a batter who has not been dismissed by spin through this edition, he was in for a treat. He scored two sixes and three fours in the first over and the game looked lost for the hosts from that moment itself. The young opener had no plans to stop as he reached his half-century in just 13 balls creating a record for the fastest half-century in the history of the Indian T20 League. He remained unbeaten on 98 in 47 deliveries and Sanju Samson played the perfect supporting role scoring 48 runs in 29 balls as the two put on a 121-run unbroken stand. Jos Buttler was unfortunately run out on a duck due to some misunderstanding but Yashasvi Jaiswal did not allow that to play in his head as he helped his side achieve the target with ease.

Yashasvi Jaiswal is making a mark on the biggest stage! It is time for everyone to stand up and notice this remarkable talent that has come through the ranks of Indian cricket! Rajasthan have made a mockery of this run chase as they have got over the finish line with 9 wickets in hand and 41 balls to spare. Rajasthan move third on the table and look well placed now to make it to the playoffs but Kolkata find their qualification hopes hanging by a thread. Nitish Rana will have to look within himself as he got his plans all wrong when he decided to open the bowling and conceded 26 runs in the first over. Rajasthan never looked back after that as all the Kolkata bowlers went wicketless and Andre Russell contributed with a run out early in the inning. They will have to go hard now in their last two games and pray for other results to go their way.
