Right then, that's it from the coverage of this game. The BPL action will continue on 24th January 2023. In this match, Fortune Barishal will be crossing swords against Sylhet Strikers. The first ball is at 1 pm IST (7.30 am GMT). But as you all know you can join us early for the build-up. Until then, take care and goodbye!
Imrul Kayes, the victorious skipper says that the winning momentum is a positive for any side. Informs that it has been a fantastic batting effort from Litton Das and the rest of the pack. Says that they he and Litton Das took their chance and it payed off. Mentions overall it is a great team work but also praises the individual effort of Naseem Shah.
Khushdil Shah wins the Man of the Match award. He is in for a quick word. He starts by thanking the almighty to contribute and get back to back MOM awards. Says he is glad that he could contribute with both bat and ball. Lauds Naseem Shah for his terrific spell. Adds that the wicket was difficult to bat than the previous game and they had planned to bowl wicket to wicket during the 2nd innings. Credits all the bowlers and lauds the entire team for their outstanding effort.
Nasir Hossain, the captain of Dhaka Dominators is in for a chat. He says that they lost early wickets and could not build stands in the middle. Informs that they started well with the ball but could not keep up the pressure. Ends by saying that they will take the learnings and hopefully turn this around in the next match.
Stay tuned for the presentation...
Earlier in the day, Comilla Victorians were put into bat first, they scampered their way to 164 for 6 in their 20 overs. Most of their batters got starts but none of them played a big knock. Charles was their top scorer with 32 and some handy contributions from Kayes, Khushdil and Jaker Ali down the order took them over 160. Nasir Hossain was the pick of Dhaka bowlers with 2 wickets and they did a good job in the field to keep them Comilla batting line under 170.
Comilla Victorians were right on the money with the ball led by Naseem Shah who bowled an outstanding spell of 4 for 12 in his 4 overs. Khushdil Shah got 2 in the middle. Charles, Abu Hider and Mukidul picked up a wicket each and defended the total with ease and won by a huge margin of 60 runs at the end.
A sorry looking scorecard for Dhaka as they end on 104 for 9 in their 20 overs. Chasing 165 for their second win this season, Dhaka lost 3 inside first 5 overs and were reeling at 16 for 3. Ghani and Nasir stitched a small little partnership but they were pretty much down and out after the fall of Nasir’s wicket. They were never really in the chase and there was no intent from the lower order to try and get the total. Usman Ghani played a decent knock of 33 and Al Amin hit some boundaries at the end to take his side over the 100 run mark. A miserable run for Dhaka Dominators continues as they slip to their 6th loss in a row.
Comilla Victorians record their fourth win on the trot. Naseem Shah comes into the side and steals the show right away. Dhaka Dominators could never get going with the bat at all.
