So, that wraps up the formalities of this match. Don't go anywhere as the second game is coming up shortly. Join us for that one at 1900 IST as UAE will battle Oman in the final match of the Qualifying stage.
ASGHAR STANIKZAI begins by thanking Almighty. He is pleased that his team never gave up after the good start Hong Kong got. Feels that his team finished well with the bat although they would have liked to get more. Says that his team was perhaps complacent in the opening game against UAE but says that the loss surely woke the team up. Ends by saying that T20 is an unpredictable format and so states that no team should be underestimated.
MOHAMMAD NABI (MAN OF THE MATCH) thanks God for blessing his team. Feels that his team were a few runs short with the bat as the track was good for batting. Feels that he was able to stick to the basics well after Hong Kong got a strong start. Says that his team will be in the ground to watch the Oman-UAE match as the result of the game will decide Afghanistan's future in the Asia Cup 2016.
TANVEER AFZAL feels that they played well in patches and opines that it is a learning curve for his team. Says that he is disappointed with the results but also adds that his team started well in all of the games although they failed to finish nicely. Praises Babar Hayat for his batting in the tournament and states that there are more talents in his team. Ends up saying that he is hopeful of Hong Kong doing well at the World T20 Qualifiers.
This big win now means that Afghanistan have comfortably gone over UAE to the top of the table. So, UAE cannot afford a loss while Oman will have to win by a certain margin to overtake Afghanistan. Remember that only one team can qualify for the main stage of the Asia Cup and this makes the second match of today's double-header a pulsating duel.
Rath and Kinchit took Hong Kong off to a flying start but the rest capitulated meekly as Nabi spun a web around the top order. He was given good support by Dawlat Zadran and Rashid Khan who both picked up two wickets apiece. After some poor fielding in the first 10 overs, Afghans lifted their intensity in catching at the back end to come back with a bang. One must say that Hong Kong's batsmen too helped their opponents' cause by playing some poor shots.
What a comeback from Afghanistan! They needed to restrict Hong Kong within 128 to stay alive in the tournament but at 79-1, it didn't seem like the Afghans would have a chance of performing the feat. However, Nabi's career-best T20I bowling figures led a spirited comeback as Hong Kong lost 9 wickets for just 33 runs to hand a massive win for Afghans.

Rashid Khan To Nadeem Ahmed OUT!
OUT! CRAZY RUNNING! Flighted outside off, Nazeer jabs it with an open face towards short third man. Carter goes charging down to the other end but his partner doesn't budge. Both batsmen at the same end as the throw comes back at Rashid who initially fumbles. But he has all the time in the world as he whips off the bails almost in slow motion and yet the batsman wasn't in the frame at all.

Rashid Khan To Anshy Rath OUT!
OUT! ANOTHER ONE BITES THE DUST! Drifting in on leg, Rath steps out to heave it away but the ball skids through to beat the bat as Shahzad effects an easy stumping. This game is turning big time and Afghanistan are in with a serious chance of restricting Hong Kong within that magic number 128.
