About Harare Sports Club, Harare
The Harare Sports Club is situated in Harare. It is the main cricket stadium of Zimbabwe. The stadium hosted Zimbabwe's first ever Test in 1992, against India, and ever since has been a preferred venue for many Tests and ODIs. The ground also houses Zimbabwe Cricket, the governing body for cricket in Zimbabwe. The ground is not a very big one and can seat only about 10,000 people at a time. But unfortunately, even the 10,000 seats hardly ever get filled up. The pavilion is the most popular stand with a lively bar inside, that sees a kind of social gathering every time a match is on. Harare Sports Club is in the heart of the city as it is surrounded by jacaranda trees and with a beautiful gabled pavilion. The venue is also known as the Salisbury Cricket Club. Harare Sports Club is also home to Zimbabwe Cricket, the country's cricket board.
