The Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham will get underway on July 28 with the opening ceremony and will go on till August 08. There will be 280 events in 20 sports at this edition of the Games, including cricket. India enjoyed its best ever medal haul in 2010, when New Delhi hosted the Games. This time, with a 215-strong contingent, India will again hope for a strong showing. July 28 will see only the opening ceremony and the events will begin from July 29 and go on until August 07. The closing ceremony will be held on August 08. Both the opening and closing ceremonies will be held at the Alexander Stadium. The Indian women's cricket team will kick off its campaign against Australia, but the blockbuster clash will take place on July 31 when India face Pakistan at Edgbaston.
