Belgrade:
Junior World Champion Koneru Humpy humbled Dejan Nestorovic (Yugolsavia) in the seventh round to lead the table with six points and is one point away from her GM norm in the Third Saturday GM Chess tournament being played at Belgrade.
According to the revised calculations, the 14-year-old has to get one point from the next two games to get her second GM norm.
Humpy, having six points from seven rounds, will play International Master Pavle Orlov (Yugoslavia) in the eighth game and take on Goran Kosanovic (Yugoslavia) in the ninth round.
Earlier, Humpy played a spectacular game to tame Dejan in just 25 moves in the seventh round to consolidate her top position.
Humpy has five wins and two draws in the seven matches she played. (PTI)
