Anand to play Jun Xu in opener
Defending champion Viswanathan Anand (2755) of India will take on Jun Xu (2643) of China in the opening match of the second World Chess Cup on Thursday.

Defending champion Viswanathan Anand (2755) of India will take on Jun Xu (2643) of China in the opening match of the second World Chess Cup which was inaugurated at the Ramoji Film City (RFC) near here today.
Koneru Humpy with a rating of 2484 is pitted against higher-rated Nana Ioseliani (2491) of Georgia in Group 'C' of the women's section of the tournament to be played from tomorrow after it was declared open by Andhra Pradesh Governor Dr C Rangarajan at the picturesque Moghul Gardens. (PTI)
