Two Indian pugilists, Dilbagh Singh and Harpreet Singh, made the final grade of the boxing events at the ninth SAF Games. Harpreet, contesting in the light heavy category scored a comprehensive 24-4 win over Sri Lanka's Sanath Priyntha, while in the welter weight category, Dilbagh Singh got the better of Afghan pugilist Mangosh Gene. Dilbagh will now face Nisar Khan of Pakistan in the final while Harpreet Singh will box against Nepal's Bisnu Parshad, who defeated Afghanistan's Jamshidullah (24-4). On the other hand, India's Surnjoy Singh lost his semi-final badly to Noman Karam of Pakistan (9-29) and Soubam Suresh lost narrowly to M Dawood of Afghanistan with the scoreline reading 19-22.
