FIFA World Cup 2018, Day 4: Mexico Stun Holders Germany, Brazil Held By Switzerland
Defending champions Germany made a disastrous start to their bid to win back-to-back World Cups with a shock defeat by Mexico. Hirving Lozano's first-half goal was the difference between the two sides in an enthralling encounter in Moscow. Aleksandar Kolarov scored a spectacular free-kick to give Serbia a deserved victory in their opening World Cup Group E match against Costa Rica. Brazil were held by Switzerland to a 1-1 draw at the Rostov Arena.
The fourth day of the FIFA World Cup saw Costa Rica take on Serbia at the Samara Arena.
Aleksandar Kolarov scored the winner for Serbia with a stunning free-kick in the 56th minute.
In the 2nd match of the day, Mexico stunned defending champions Germany.
Hirving Lozano scored the lone goal of the match in the 35th minute.
Despite Germany's onslaught, Mexico held on to their slender lead to register a famous win.
Philippe Coutinho hit a stunning goal to give Brazil the lead against Switzerland.
Switzerland's midfielder Steven Zuber scored the equalising goal for his team against Brazil which earned them a 1-1 draw.
