... THE RUN CHASE ...

On the other hand, it was a disappointing inning for Mumbai. The bowlers were pretty expensive since the initial overs of the match and the story was nothing different at the death overs as well. They were getting their break out in the middle but they were not capitalizing on that to keep the pressure on the new batters. The fielding of this side was also a mixed bag. They were pretty decent on ground fielding but missed a couple of catches throughout the inning. Shabnim Ismail, Saika Ishaque, Pooja Vastrakar, and Hayley Matthews picked up one wicket each by the end of the inning. But Mumbai has the talent in their batting unit to chase this huge total, as it is all on their shoulder to bring the match home. They will like to be careful holding their wickets in the powerplay, but at the same time put maximum pressure on the opposition's bowler. Join us in a bit for the chase!

Shabnim Ismail is up for a quick chat. She says that the wicket was quicker than she expected but Delhi played really well. Adds that she is a bit disappointed with her bowling effort, and they dropped a few chances as well. Says that she does not look at the big screen while bowling and did not know that she broke the 130 clicks barrier in this game. Mentions that they did not have a score in mind to restrict and just tries to react according to the conditions. Ends by saying that she hopes that their batters can chase this down.,

Delhi once again showcased their batting prowess, in front of their home crowd. The openers lit up from the first over and made the whole profit of the powerplay. However, the opening partnership broke with the dismissal of Shafali Verma in the fifth over. But Alice Capsey did well to fill the shoe and form another sturdy partnership. Well, things were not in her favor and she too had to walk down towards her pavilion. After that event, the pace of the runs slowed down but the skipper, Meg Lanning completed her half-century just before she got dismissed. She played an exceptional knock and scored 53 runs off 38 deliveries. However, Jemimah Rodrigues took care of the scoreline and started slicing the ball like any other fruit all over the ground. She was outstanding with her strokeplay and smoked 8 boundaries and 3 towing sixes to score 69 runs off just 33 deliveries. She was there till the end of the inning to put up a humongous target of 193 runs on board to challenge the opposition's batters.
