Somdev Devvarman beats Wisnu Adi Nugroho of Indonesia 6-1, 6-2, 6-2 to help India take a 1-0 lead in the Davis Cup, 1st Round Play-off.

Ranked 208th in the ATP rankings, Somdev lost just 5 games in the three sets that lasted 90 minutes at the Karnataka State Lawn Tennis Association stadium on Friday. Wisnu is ranked a lowly 1774th in the world.

Yuki Bhambri will lock horns with Indonesia No 1 Christopher Rungkat in the second singles on Day 1 of the tie, which will be played under lights.

On Day 2, Leander Paes and Sanam Singh will take on David Agung Susanto and Elbert Sie.

In the reverse singles, on the final day of the tie, Rungkat will play Somdev and Wisnu will face Yuki.

The loser of the tie will be relegated to Group 2 of the Asia/Oceania group.
