Somdev advances in Malaysian Open
Somdev Devvarman of India, ranked 89th, advanced into the second round of the Malaysian Open on Tuesday, with a 7-6 (5), 6-4 victory over Russian qualifier Mikhail Ledovskikh, who was making his season debut on the ATP Tour.

Somdev Devvarman of India, ranked 89th, advanced into the second round of the Malaysian Open on Tuesday, with a 7-6 (5), 6-4 victory over Russian qualifier Mikhail Ledovskikh, who was making his season debut on the ATP Tour.
Somdev faced some resistance from his Russian opponent but managed to carve a win out eventually.
In other matches of the day, Philipp Petzschner's win stood out the most. He beat fellow German Mischa Zverev 7-5, 6-3.
The 66th-ranked Petzschner broke Zverev's serve twice in the second set to win in 72 minutes at Kuala Lumpur's Putra Stadium.
Mikhail Kukushkin of Kazakhstan had to retire against Spain's Albert Ramos while trailing 4-6, 6-3, 4-2.
