"It is very disappointing for this to happen because we had made all our preparations for the Davis Cup tie and had even sent our full security plans to the ITF to keep them abreast of what we were doing," PTF secretary, Mumtaz Yousuf said.
The ITF has announced that due to security concerns about playing in Pakistan, the Davis Cup tie has been shifted to Lebanon.
Pakistan has in the last two years not played any Davis Cup tie at home due to the volatile security situation in the country.
The ITF has constantly moved Davis Cup ties that were scheduled in Pakistan to other countries because of security reasons or due to the visiting teams' refusal to play in Pakistan.
In the last two years, Pakistan has seen Hong Kong, New Zealand, Phillipine and even Oman refusing to play in Pakistan.
The PTF has even asked for compensation from the ITF for the shifted ties but this time were confident of hosting the matches against Lebanon early next year in Lahore.
"Lebanon are ready to come and play in Lahore but the ITF says it is not satisfied that the security situation in Pakistan are such that foreign teams can be allowed to play in Pakistan," the PTF secretary said.
"It is hugely disappointing for us given all the preparations we had made but we have lodged an appeal with the ITF to reconsider their decision as we are willing to provide foolproof security to the Lebanon team," he said.
