Paes-Zimonjic in Madrid Masters final

Leander Paes and his doubles partner Nenad Zimonjic today booked their place in the final of the Madrid Masters by defeating the French combination of Michael Llodra and Fabrice Santoro in straight sets. Paes and Zimonjic prevailed 7-6 7-5 in the semifinal of the USD 1,870,000 event being played at the Madrid Arena to enter their second final in as many weeks. The Indo-Serbian pair struggled with their rhythm early on but scraped through the tie-breaker 7-5. They managed a break right at the end of the second set to seal the match. Last week, Paes and Zimonjic had lost to Australians Wayne Arthurs and Paul Hanley in the Stockholm Open final. (PTI)
