Second-seeded Marion Bartoli was eliminated in the second round of the Korea Open on Wednesday, losing to Vania King of the United States 6-3, 7-5.
The 2007 Wimbledon runner-up from France struggled to get her service game going on the hard courts at Olympic Park, double-faulting 17 times.
Fourth-seeded Dominika Cibulkova of Slovakia advanced to the quarterfinals when Yaroslava Shvedova of Kazakhstan retired after losing the first set 7-6 (4). Fifth-seeded Polona Hercog of Slovakia also advanced, beating Carla Suarez Navarro of Spain 6-3, 7-5.
Also, Klara Zakopalova of the Czech Republic beat seventh-seeded Irina-Camelia Begu of Romania 6-1, 6-1.
