Top-seeded Argentine, Juan Martin del Portro defeated Frenchman Nicolas Mahut to move into the quarterfinals at Apia International Sydney 2014 Wednesday.

Del Potro, who is currently ranked World No.5, will next meet Czech veteran Radek Stepanek Thursday for a place in Friday's semifinals.
