Djokovic reaches semifinals in Dubai

Australian Open champion Novak Djokovic reached the semifinals of the Dubai Championships by beating Florian Mayer of Germany 7-5, 6-1 on Thursday for his 12th straight win.

Australian Open champion Novak Djokovic reached the semifinals of the Dubai Championships by beating Florian Mayer of Germany 7-5, 6-1 on Thursday for his 12th straight win.

The defending champion trailed 3-0 and 5-3 in the first set before winning the final four games. The third-ranked Serb easily won the second set to set up a semifinal match against Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic.

Berdych defeated Philipp Petzschner of Germany 7-5, 6-4.
