Chela, Seppi advance to quarterfinals in Bucharest

Defending champion Juan Ignacio Chela of Argentina advanced to the quarterfinals of the Nastase Tiriac Trophy on Wednesday, defeating Florent Serra of France 6-1, 6-0.

Defending champion Juan Ignacio Chela of Argentina advanced to the quarterfinals of the Nastase Tiriac Trophy on Wednesday, defeating Florent Serra of France 6-1, 6-0.

Chela, seeded No.1, will meet seventh-seeded Andreas Seppi of Italy in the quarterfinals. Seppi defeated Igor Andreev of Russia in three sets, 6-2, 3-6, 6-1.

Sixth-seeded Potito Starace of Italy is out. Starace retired at 6-1, 3-2 down against Pere Riba of Spain.
