The Indo-Pak pair went down fighting 4-6 5-7 to their unseeded opponents in the quarterfinals of the USD 1,000,000 hard court event.
Bopanna, who is trying to enter the World Tour Finals, was to defend 90 points at this tournament but this defeat means he would get just 45 points.
He had reached the semifinals last year with Tipsaveric.
Bopanna and Qureshi are world number six and have to be in top-eight bracket to make the cut for the Tour finals.
