Paris:
Australian Open champion Angelique Kerber has dropped a place to World No.3 in the latest WTA rankings released on Monday after her semi-final exit in Charleston. (Read more tennis stories here)
The German retired with an injury when trailing 6-1, 3-0 to eventual champion Sloane Stephens on Saturday, and Agnieszka Radwanska retakes second spot despite not playing last week.
American Serena Williams still holds a massive lead at the top of the rankings while her compatriot Stephens is closing in on the top 20 after her third title of the season.
