Chit-fund scandal will impact the cash-flow in top soccer clubs in Kolkata
The chit-fund scandal, involving the Saradha group, will seriously impact the money flow in Kolkata's well-known football teams like Mohun Bagan, East Bengal and Prayag United. The tainted Saradha group has pumped in crores in Bengal football and the relatively new club, Prayag United, could be in soup because its financiers are being investigated for financial irregularities. Prayag has paid record salaries to its foreign players from Africa.
