Gagan Narang has been asked to vacate the Balewadi Sports Complex in Pune, where he houses his Gun for Glory shooting academy.
The London Olympics bronze medallist has reportedly recieved notice to vacate the premises by March 31. According to sources, just a few months back the Maharashtra sports minister Bhaskar Jadhav had assured the shooting ace of full cooperation in running the academy.
The contract of the Narang-run academy had expired in 2012. The shooting academy had applied for an extension and the sports department had assured them of the same for a further 5-year period along with will provision of rifles & ammunition for training.
However, the sports department of the Maharashtra Government has now asked the academy to pay the rent with an increase of 10 per cent per year.
